Lost and forlorn on the sea of life.
I'm the ship, tempest-tost, blown hither-and-thither, with neither safe harbour or cove,
I wonder the seas alone, lost, and forgotten, my sails are torn and steering lost,
a crew of lost souls we wander aimlessly past all help and respite,
we sail onward knowing nothing else, searching for what? We no longer know,
moving with wave and tide on the endless seas our cries lost to the storm heard only by ourselves and those beside us.
As the shadows grow long, and the evening draws near,
and we say our final farewells, and the time to rest is nigh,
sleep sound as I watch over you and all you leave behind,
and until we meet again, goodbye and goodnight,
and see you in the morning light.
To my fair maiden I swear
By my chivalry I swear to stand beside you always,
as friend, confidante, and loving protector, to give the respect and
honour due to you my chaste and beloved maiden,
worth more than any gold, silver, furs, and finest silks of the orient.
By my lance and sword I swear to strike down those who
would cause you dread, fear, and distress, as the
dawn light chases away the dark of night, so I shall put them to flight,
and scatter them to the four winds nevermore to concern you.
